The next month is going to be a bit of a whirlwind. We have to pack up and leave Utah in the next week, then fly to Detroit to spend a few weeks with friends and fam, then fly to Seattle, then hop on a ferry to Alaska. We will be cruising up the inside passage. There will be a number of stops along the way to our starting point in Homer. Below is our general schedule over the next month until we begin riding, the boat landing schedule, and a map of our travels through the inside passage.

The ferry will dock in quite a few small towns. Above I said we would be 'cruising'. The Marine Highway could be called a working man's cruise at best. There is food which is likely to be high in price, salt, and fat available for purchase on board. We will be allowed to bring our own snacks and aldut beverages, although there is no way to cook beyond a microwave. If you know me well enough, you've probably heard my rants about microwaves, lawns, corn, and bottled water. You can get a cabin if you want. A true traveler skips the $1,000 for this though and their tent to the upper deck of the boat with a bit of duct tape. This is what we will do. Below is the schedule of the ferry as it makes its way to Homer, AK.
Hey Haag, Just reading your ferry schedule and we had quite a culture shock when we went from Haines to Juneau for the day on a small tour cruise. There were way to many cruise ships docked there and we were just amazed at all the people in the downtown area. It was nice to visit but way too crowded for us! Good Luck safe travels! If you haven’t seen our videos that I made from our trip to Alaska you should check them out on youtube @ Cathyhummel , there are 3 of them! We will be in Prince Rupert starting July 26 then we will be in Hyder, AK starting Aug 1 for 2 weeks. Maybe we will run into you somewhere.
Be very careful riding from Homer to Girdwood beautiful road however, slightly narrow road lots of traffic.
I like the video. It is totally possible that we could catch you around Hyder. Will you be staying there or travelling around? If we make good time, we could pass by there in mid August.

We are staying in Stewart BC which is right next to Hyder from Aug 1 till Aug 14. Then off to Jasper and Banff. We will be in Prince Rupert the week before that.
